Gulls double Pies in big win

Warragul netballers travelled to Sale for round two, resulting in just one win in A grade.

A grade: Warragul 66 defeated Sale 33

The Gulls put in an amazing team effort to get the win.

The girls had another strong start and huge finish. Renee Nobelius and Ella Rees were dominant back, whilst Alex Cole, Sienna Green, Jaime Rollinson and Tia Jenkins were amazing through the midcourt.

Becky Dixon and Emma Ryde played havoc in the goal ring, with great conversion.

B grade: Warragul 24 lost to Sale 34

It was a tough game down at Sale for the Gulls, falling away in the last quarter.

The coach gave special mention to the defensive end, who worked tirelessly throughout the game.

Mackenzie Minichiell­o, Lucy Williamson, Brooke Carol and Ella Gaul worked together

April 16 2024 to put pressure on Sale and keep the Gulls in the game.

Ashlyn Gallash played a killer game, providing consistenc­y and structure all through the court.

C grade: Warragul 23 lost to Sale 28

Saturday saw another brilliant display of great defensive pressure by Olivia Barr, Cara Gavin and Charli Hendrikse.

Mia Leishout, Ellie Beechey-Danvers and Stephanie Paul worked well to get the ball on the circle to create opportunit­ies in the ring.

Bella Hefford and Sophie Fennell work tirelessly all game, not giving up when things weren’t going their way.

17 and under: Warragul 6 lost to Sale 47 Even though the Gulls were defeated, the girls worked and battled hard all game. They didn’t give up until the end against a very tall and strong Sale side.

Congratula­tions to Milla Tworkowski who played her 50th club game.

15 and under: Warragul 19 lost to Sale 41 In sunny conditions, the Gulls got off to a good start. However, constant pressure from Sale made it difficult to maintain.

The last quarter was goal-for-goal, with great passages of play and accurate shooting by the Gulls. Overall, it was an exciting display of what the team is capable of.

Best on court went to Olivia Barr for her defensive pressure.

Awards also went to Finlay Heenan and Rharni Cooper for their hard work in the midcourt.

13 and under: Warragul 1 lost to Sale 51 It was a tough game on Saturday for the girls.

However, they showed great perseveran­ce and never gave up.

Awards: Evelyn Blackwood, Billie Gray and Indi Kelton.
