LUXURY developer Sunland Group has one home remaining in the 42ha Mermaid Waters masterplanned community, The Lakes Residences. Sunland managing director Sahba Abedian said civil works had started and the first homes were expected to be finished early next year.

“The Lakes is a rare and exceptional site and it was very important that our housing collection celebrated its unique waterfront location through elegant architecture and inspired landscape design,” Mr Abedian said.

The remaining lakeside home is priced at $1.395 million. Mr Abedian believes the vision behind the masterplan will deliver a significant urban landmark for the Gold Coast. Plans include a $100 million leisurelifestyle retail village, The Lanes, with food markets and urban laneways.

“The design presents an inspired interpretation of both high street and village retail, where shopfronts and laneways embrace the Gold Coast’s wonderful climate and become a vibrant part of the social fabric of the community,” Mr Abedian said.

The Lanes will also include entertainment precincts and an outdoor amphitheatre for community events.

“Our vision for this prestigious 42ha precinct is to create a vibrant masterplanned community featuring canalfront land, luxury homes and villas, apartments and landscaped leisure spaces, intimately connected to their unique waterfront setting through thoughtful urban design,” Mr Abedian said.

The collection of waterfront and parkfront homes includes freestanding residences and four-bedroom villas.

There will be two large central parks along with lakeside gardens.

“In the coming years, parklands, bikeways, a waterfront promenade and a vibrant retail village and green market square will form part of the established amenity, together with the convenience of established retail precincts nearby,” Mr Abedian said.
