PALM Beach continues to boom with a beachfront mansion selling for a record price in the suburb.

Patience paid off for the sellers of a blue fourlevel mansion that sold for almost $6 million in what CoreLogic records show is the biggest sale in Palm Beach.

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom beach house at 61 Jefferson Lane had been on the market a year before a Gold Coast buyer bought it last week.

The property had failed to sell at auction last April and was then listed at $6.25 million through McGrath agents John Natoli, James Ledgerwood and Tony Holland.

It was the first time the beach house had hit the market since it was built in 1993.

Records show the mansion was linked to Claybar Pty Ltd and the late Ian Barclay.

Mr Barclay, a builder, had owned a smaller holiday home on the same street before building his holiday home.

The median house price in Palm Beach is $712,500, up 1.8 per cent over the past year and up 34 per cent over the past three years.

And it may not be beachfront, but a Palm Beach canal front home at 8 Melaleuca Drive has sold for $1.4 million.

Marketed by Ray White Kingscliff - Casuarina agent Kevin Wheatley as having loads of potential, the 1990-built house has three bedrooms, a double garage and a pool.

In other news, First National Real Estate Surfers Paradise was recognised at the First National General Excellence and Marketing Awards.

The agency won the sales office of the year awards as we well as a raft of individual staff awards.

Among the individual winners were Russell Rollington, Rob Rollington and Bob Rollington who all received Top 5 Qld salesperson of the year awards.
