The pool winding its way through the main living areas to create a wonderful illusion is just one of the many breathtaking features that make this waterfront masterpiece so special

STEPPING through the stylish entryway into this Bundall masterpiece, you feel like you’re on an island.

That’s because the resort-inspired wraparound pool winds its way through the main living areas of the house.

“It gives the illusion that the living room is an island as it’s surrounded by the swimming pool,” homeowner Tom Snow said. “The front part is shallow and then it goes down one part of the side of the house, which is the lap pool.”

It is the attention to detail and modern finishes that create the standout waterfront house at 15 Daimler Drive. But it wasn’t always like this. Mr Snow and his wife Debbie bought the property in 1998 and lived in the existing house before building their dream home seven years ago.

“We couldn’t find a better block anywhere so we knocked that house down and built a new one,” Mr Snow, a father-of-two, said.

The pair looked at many designs before settling on theirs but had a particular focus on creating a seamless connection between the house and canalfront.

And their house has come to life just as they had envisioned.

An open-plan design, floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors reveal sensational water views, while the kitchen transitions out to the waterfront alfresco entertainment area with built-in barbecue.

“You can open the whole front of the house up from one side to the other,” Mr Snow said. “There’s two symmetrical sets of sliding doors ... you can open the whole front of the house and even in summer you get a good breeze.”

It comes with all the extras you would expect of a luxurious Gold Coast home – a parents’ retreat, butler’s pantry, media room and jetty.

The sunken lounge has an ethanol fireplace, while a mix of wood, glass balustrade and louvres adds to the ambience.

Mr Snow said his family was selling to downsize to an apartment in Brisbane.
