Beautifully renovated on doorstep of ocean

A stylish renovation has turned this Broadbeach Waters house into an exquisite, modern offering. The kitchen captures some great views of the sunset

SPACE and style are showcased from the moment you open the door to this two-storey Broadbeach Waters home.

A floor-to-ceiling mirror and decorative stone wall in the foyer reflects the imposing design created by homeowners Mark and Ainslie Bernoth.

“We originally put an offer on a house in the Gold Coast Hinterland which had views of the ocean, but we thought why not just be at the ocean’s doorstep,” Mr Bernoth said.

The couple bought the home seven years ago and gave it a fresh look with modern finishes.

“The house was quite outdated when we found it and it was even bigger than what it is now,” Mr Bernoth said. “There were seven bedrooms when we moved in and we thought even for our family of five that it was a bit excessive so we have created spaces that we could get some use out of.”

The home is the pair’s 10th renovation project and features a new kitchen, stylish bathrooms and a media room.

“We turned it into a five-bedroom house and put in a media room for the kids who now spend most of their time in there,” Mr Bernoth said.

Mr Bernoth said the kitchen captured some of the best sunsets in the house.

“The kitchen walls are predominantly just glass and the outlook, especially in the afternoons, are extraordinary,” he said.

Mr Bernoth said the family were on to their next big venture in Upper Coomera, renovating a 100-year-old dairy farm house.
