More than usual care put into this build

The utmost care and consideration has been poured into this Southport property as the seller not only built the home, but lives next door

- AMANDA LUCAS

STEPPING inside this recently-completed home is comparable to entering an art gallery.

Natural light floods through a central courtyard into a kitchen and lounge space.

Director of Innova Projects, Danny McKanna, has been building prestige residential projects on the Gold Coast for the past decade and said architect Adam Beck did a stellar job.

“He made the most of the northern aspect through the courtyard,” Mr McKanna said.

“Creating a centralised courtyard has allowed natural light to flow through the property each morning and the huge amount of glass allows for a great indoor-outdoor connection.”

Mr McKanna has a special attachment to 74A Melinda St, Southport.

“We’re living next door,” he said.

“We built one as a family home and this one is basically exactly the same floor plan with a slightly different style of finishes and colours.

“The design itself is probably one of the best features, as we designed it for ourselves.”

What Mr McKanna has managed to achieve is quite extraordinary.

The two-storey home is comprised of a beautiful mix of materials including stone, timber and glass.

With shared living spaces on the ground level, all four bedrooms are positioned upstairs in what is a practical layout for a family.

Mr McKanna said he was passionate about building quality homes and his business focus remains firmly on creating further residential projects in the Southport region. 74A MELINDA ST, SOUTHPORT 4 2 2 AGENT: Mitchell Lambert and Jesse Willcox, Lambert Willcox Estate Agents Broadbeach FEATURES: North-facing, gas appliances, butler’s pantry, media room, outdoor dining area AREA: 334 sq m EOI: Closing May 31 INSPECTIONS: Saturday and Sunday, 10.45am11.15am
