The highest sale was $2.75 million for a renovated home at Currumbin with stunning ocean views. The property, at 11 James St, comes with a media room, jacuzzi and intercom.

Taneil Simpson from @realty negotiated the sale and said the property was used as a holiday home by its previous owners.

“The home has had a recent refurbishment, so it feels very new,” she said.

Ms Simpson said the home has beautiful views.

“It’s not hard to see why it was used as a holiday home,” she said.

“The buyers are from Melbourne and are actually using it as a holiday home too.” The home has a beach house style. Furthermore, at 26 Collins Lane, Casuarina a five-bedroom mansion sold for $2.655 million.

Meanwhile, real estate was the talk of the town this week after the two-day Australasian Real Estate Conference wrapped up.

About 4150 industry players flocked to the Gold Coast from throughout Australia to learn from local and international speakers who shared business secrets about super growth.

A leading real estate identity, John McGrath, of McGrath Real Estate, labelled the Gold Coast a “compelling’’ market to invest in.

“A lot of my clients that are not necessarily wanting to invest in Sydney or Melbourne, I am sending them north,’’ Mr McGrath said.

Mr McGrath said the investors he had referred to the Gold Coast in recent years have done very well. Held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, it was the 20th annual AREC conference and the sixth to be held on the Gold Coast.
