Aria’s $4.2m smash
It was a case of love at first sight for some international buyers who didn’t waste any time in making the Hope Island mega mansion their own
ARIA, a five-bedroom, resort-inspired mega mansion has sold to an international buyer for $4.2 million.
On and off the market since March 2012, Hum & Fea Gold Coast Realty principal Ruth Fea kicked off a renewed marketing push for 2334 Cressbrook Drive almost a year ago.
“In this case, the buyers were standing at the front of the property and phoned from our sign – they were here in Australia for only a short period of time and requested an immediate inspection,” she said.
“We accommodated them, took a blank contract with us and made the deal happen.”
Ms Fea said the buyers spent some time at the property and made an offer immediately.
“We drew up the contracts there and then around the kitchen table,” she said.
“I think the buyers were particularly impressed with the 52.72m of waterfront as well as the breathtakingly different architectural construction and attention to detail. Aria truly is a one-of-a-kind property in Hope Island.”
Seller Sean Edge bought the block in 2006 for $1.06 million and spent more than 100 hours perfecting the design on paper.
“I was looking for privacy and wide water,” he told the Bulletin when it hit the market last year.
“This was the perfect block but I found the design very difficult because of the shape of the block.”
Aria has a raft of impressive features including an open-air cinema, two pools, an indoor-outdoor entertainer’s bar, a media room and kitchen with a cold room.
Ms Fea said the Hope Island property market was running hot.
“We are currently experiencing an upswing in interest with demand in property mostly outstripping supply,” she said.
“In other words, we have an abundance of qualified buyers with little to sell to them.”
