Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin - Property

Mega Coast sales

The Coast has recorded several big sales this week with a Surfers Paradise mansion topping the list

IT’S been a big week for Gold Coast real estate with several multi-million dollar property sales.

The biggest was an Isle of Capri mansion, snapped up for $8.8 million in a secret sale.

It took less than one week for entrepreneurial businessman David Baird and his wife Marion’s property at 31-33 The Corso, Surfers Paradise, to be sold to an Asian buyer. “Following the sale of this house we will be moving to Paradise Waters,” Mr Baird, a retired corporate executive, said.

“We didn’t have the house on the market but it sold within a week. It was a very quick sale and we are happy with the outcome.”

Ray White Broadbeach agent Sam Guo handled the sale.

He said the Isle of Capri property was in one of the best positions on the Gold Coast.

“It faces due north and it has a water view to Adam’s Basin,” Mr Guo said.

“This is arguably the best position in this pocket. It’s a beautiful and such a solid suspended concrete home with immense style and of grand proportions.”

Meanwhile, an ultra-modern house at 2623 Virginia Drive, Hope Island, sold for $5.05 million.

It is on a 1000 sqm of land with 20 metres of water frontage which overlooks the Marina Harbour. Outdoors is an entertainment area with a built in barbecue kitchen which overlooks the swimming pool and a 14-metre pontoon.

Inside are four bedrooms — the main bedroom has an ensuite and large walk-in wardrobe. It was listed for sale through Rita Na, of Hope Island Resort Realty

The Coast also hosted a cracking midweek auction when a resort-style tropical hideaway sold under the hammer for $3.7 million.

The property at 11 Jarema Drive, Mudgeeraba, which featured on the cover of the Gold Coast Bulletin real estate magazine, was snapped up by a local family.

From a tennis court, lap pool, spa, soccer field to a built-in aquarium, billiard room, gym and cinema, their mega mansion is more resort-like than house.

Katrina Walsh of Harcourts Coastal took the property to auction.
