The Coast is bracing for an influx of agents for the Australasi­an Real Estate Conference

AUSTRALIA’S top real estate agents are descending on the Gold Coast this weekend for the Australasi­an Real Estate Conference (AREC).

In its milestone 21st year, the line-up of more than 30 speakers at AREC18 has proven to be a major drawcard with registrati­ons from Australia and New Zealand and as far away as the UK, South Africa and Hawaii.

The two-day conference kicking off on Sunday, is set to focus on real estate strategies for the future, returns for the seventh year to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year’s keynote speakers include Australian business whiz Chris Helder, Canada’s inspiratio­nal speaker and New York Times best-selling author Amanda Lindhout, and Tom Ferry, the leading real estate trainer in the US. And in sales news, a Sovereign Islands mansion has topped the list of sales at an auction event held by the team at Amir Mian Prestige Property Agents earlier this week.

The waterfront property at 14 Westminste­r Court sold for $3.8 million under the hammer.

Bidding for the five-bedroom, sixbathroo­m mansion started at $3.4 million with multiple buyers fighting for it.

Proceeding­s were briefly paused for negotiatio­ns before it sold for $3.8 million.

It was among 16 properties on the auction block at the even.

The other two properties that sold under the hammer were 71 Sir Bruce Small Boulevard, Benowa Waters for $1.3 million and 76 The Peninsula, Helensvale for $1.4 million. Three other properties went under contract after auction.
