A LUXURY beach house made the Gold Coast’s list of top sales last week after fetching a multimillion-dollar price.

A Brisbane-based buyer snapped up the Mermaid Beach home for $4.6 million just 24 hours after inspecting it.

Harcourts Coastal agent Tolemy Stevens, who marketed the property, had a feeling the buyers would be interested in the threebedroom residence at

“I identified who I thought would be the perfect prospective buyer,” he said.

A quick inspection and the property was sold.

“The sellers are over the moon with the sale price — it was the price they wanted to achieve. “The buyer is also excited that they were able purchase their dream home and are looking forward to the Mermaid Beach lifestyle.”

He said it was further evidence Mermaid Beach was in high demand.

“I currently do not have enough properties for sale — I have clients looking to invest in the area,” Mr Stevens said.

The mega sale follows two recent sales in the suburb — a $5.25 million Hedges Ave penthouse Mr Stevens handled and a $3 million Albatross Ave penthouse Michael Kollosche of Kollosche Prestige Agents marketed.

In Mermaid Waters, a Hamptons-inspired home at sold under the hammer for $1.181 million.

Ray White Mermaid Waters principal Mitch Palmer said the sale marked a suburb record for a renovated, dry block home.

“We always knew it would do well,” Mr Palmer said.

He said there was a crowd of more than 100 people who watched nine registered bidders battle it out for the property.

“A local NRL player was also in the mix for it as well but got outbid,” Mr Palmer said.

A Bonogin family were the successful bidders.

“They were chasing something on a big block and (were) blown away by the appeal of this home,” Mr Palmer said.
