Renovation offers double the room

It started life as a brick veneer rendered house but has been transformed into a beautiful home nearly doubled in size

- WORDS MICHELLE HELE

WHEN Jede and Matt Chadwick bought their Burleigh Waters home in 2009, it was a brick veneer, brown rendered house.

That home is almost unrecognisable now after it was transformed through Burleigh Constructions into a house that has almost doubled in size.

One of the things which really attracted the couple to the house was the location.

“The street is nice and quiet and family oriented, it is close to the school and the beach and the park,’’ Mrs Chadwick said. “We lived in it for quite a few years and then we did a big renovation nearly two years ago,’’ she said.

The couple had three children in four years so they needed to either buy something larger or renovate - they decided to renovate.

“So we went for a full modern Hamptons style renovation, I have got my dream kitchen in there, which I am very sad to leave,’’ Mrs Chadwick said.

Before the renovation, the home had three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Although it was listed as a four-bedroom house, with two media rooms, Mrs Chadwick said it was legally five bedrooms, as one of the media rooms was created as a bedroom.

“A lot of houses you can’t see kids in the pool and things like when you are in the kitchen so I really loved that I could be in my beautiful kitchen and still see the kids in the pool.’’

There is an adults’ wing and a children's wing.

The kitchen has stone benchtops, a gas cook top and a butler’s pantry and there are timber floors in the open plan living and dining area and bi-fold doors. 7 MAITLAND ST, BURLEIGH WATERS 4 3 2 Agent: Troy Fitzgerald and Justin Hunt, Ray White Broadbeach / Broadbeach Waters / Mermaid Waters Auction: September 1, 10am Inspections: Saturday, 9.30am-10am
