SPRING is already proving to be fruitful for the Gold Coast property market with the top 10 sales last week soaring above $1.2 million.

A Sorrento property recorded the highest sale price at $2 million.

Marketing agent Maria Genc, of Genc and Co, said a local buyer snapped up the Campbell St property, mainly for its waterfront location.

“They had been looking for a while,” Mrs Genc said.

“As soon as they came into the house, they fell in love with it.”

The luxury property was designed and owned by award-winning architect John Pushon.

Mrs Genc said the buyers liked its modern style and that it was big enough for a family.

“It’s really contemporary and has five bedrooms,” she said.

Under its previous owner Tony Halsam, the property was one of the Coast’s most popular holiday homes.

“We owned a couple of houses on the Gold Coast and used this home for holiday letting, it’s very popular because of the location,” Mr Halsam said when he listed the property earlier this year.

“It has an east north east aspect and if you look to the right over the water, you can see the Broadbeach skyline, and slightly to the left is Surfers Paradise.”

The house has designer finishes including white glass, kwila timber and Italian porcelain tiles.

Its standout features include a 4.5m island bench and butler’s pantry in the kitchen, gas fireplace, lap pool, hot tub, alfresco area with outdoor kitchen and sandy beachfront.

It also has a seemingly endless list of smart technology including keyless entry, a state-of-the-art CBUS home automation service and CCTV.
