CHRISTMAS has come early for a Chinese family after splashing $2.1 million on a Clear Island Waters mansion.

The property at 12 San Simeon Drive, which was featured on the cover of the Bulletin’s Real Estate magazine last month, was listed for sale through Sonja Smith of Luxure The Property People.

“The buyers loved the fact it is a great family home, it has a massive swimming pool for their children and also the quality of the home,” Ms Smith said.

“The vendors are also very happy to move on to their next step.”

Ms Smith said she had 17 groups through the house over four weeks.

“Clear Island Waters is still attracting Chinese buyers,” she said.

“They love the area for its central location and north facing homes. It’s also got good access to schools and shopping centres.”

CoreLogic records reveal the owners sold the house for $100,000 more than they paid for it in 2015.

The property has no shortage of luxury features with 22m of water frontage, a super sized pool and an open floor plan.

Vendor Melinda Richards and her husband Craig Wallace moved from nearby Robina Island in search of wide water.

“It was just a really nicely put together property,” Mr Wallace said.

“It had just been renovated by the previous owners and it reminded us of a luxury resort — it is very private and secluded yet we are on very wide open water.”

Since owning the property, the pair have re-landscaped the front yard and enhanced its street appeal. As soon as you step inside the outlook over Clear Island Lake demands your attention. Floor to ceilings windows allow plenty of light to filter through, creating a warm and inviting space.
