HOUSE hunters seeking a peaceful retreat need look no further than this acreage estate at Currumbin Valley.

Surrounded by trees with 200m of creek frontage, it feels as if it’s a world away from civilisation.

The architecturally designed home has seven bedrooms and three bathrooms spread across three levels.

It offers dual living with a self-contained apartment inside the house as well as a cellar with workshop.

Among its standout features are a media room, two fireplaces, multiple decks around the house and infinity edge pool overlooking the creek.

Owner Murray d’Almeida, who founded Retail Food Group Australia and cofounded Donut King, said it was going to be hard to let go of the property after living there for decades.

“The house just blends in naturally with the rainforest environment with very large decks that merge into the canopy,” he said.

“I will miss it beyond comprehension however seven bedrooms and a five-car garage ... is far too much. It’s time to find something smaller.”

Marketing agent Richard Snowden, of McGrath Palm Beach, said the picturesque property set the scene for film My Mistress. “The property has been used as a location for a film in 2013 with international French actress Emmanuelle Bearte,” he said.
