Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin - Property

Tempting buyers from interstate

It was going to take a special house to convince an Adelaide family to move to the Gold Coast so when they found it, they wasted no time snapping it up

MOVING to the Gold Coast was a tempting idea for Rhoda and Stuart Oliver but a waterfront property on the Isle of Capri was ultimately what made them take the plunge.

Having holidayed on the Coast for more than a decade before they decided to relocate from Adelaide, the couple knew what they wanted in their new home.

“What appealed most was the beautiful riverfront position, plus the wide street with no through traffic,” Mrs Oliver said.

“It also had to be close to St Hilda’s, beaches, major shopping centres and very central to everything.”

They bought the two-storey Amalfi Drive property in 2015 and have lived there with their children ever since.

It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a powder room, study, central atrium, wine cellar and alfresco area with pool overlooking the water.

Mrs Oliver said the seamless flow through the open-plan house made it easy to entertain guests.

They loved a lot about the property but its outdoor areas were their favourite spots to spend time together as a family.

“We love eating breakfast in the private atrium but can still enjoy uninterrupted water views,” Mrs Oliver said.

She also liked that their pool was protected from view by a flanked custom rendered bench.
