Long search ends

It was third time’s a charm in the search for a new owner for this luxury waterfront house

- WORDS MIKAELA DAY

AFTER a long search for a new owner, the vendors of this Broadbeach Waters property can finally pop the champagne bottle.

The four-bedroom house was first listed for sale in August 2017. After a more than 600- day campaign, through numerous agencies with multiple price tags, the property finally sold for $1.58 million.

Nic Whitehead and Daniel Perry, from John Reid Real Estate Broadbeach, took over the listing in March and swiftly inked the deal, with the property settling earlier this week.

“We were ecstatic with the result … it was listed with two other agencies for quite some time before us,” Mr Whitehead said.

“The buyers were a couple from Runaway Bay who were looking to relocate a bit closer to the action near restaurants, the cultural precinct and the beach.

“The sellers have gone to a luxury apartment in Southport.”

The waterfront house featured water and city skyline views, as well as a pontoon, infinity pool and multiple outdoor entertainment areas.

Mr Whitehead said the new owners planned to keep the property as it was and were excited to lap up its central location and impressive vistas. CoreLogic property records showed three agencies tried their hand and selling the house, with it initially hitting the market for more than $1.9 million almost two years ago. That price was slashed overtime to $1.695 million and then, most recently, listed without a price guide.

Broadbeach Waters has a $1.13 million median house price, according to the latest CoreLogic figures. The suburb has experienced 41.9 per cent growth in the past five years.
