Close to the arts action

A boutique development on Chevron Island will link its residents to a new arts complex

A GOLD Coast development nearing the halfway mark of construction has already sold 90 per cent of its 61 apartments.

Marquee Development Partners’ Stanhill Chevron Island is the closest new apartment development to the island’s Green Bridge which, once completed in October, will link the community to the $380 million Home of the Arts (HOTA).

HOTA, which features an outdoor amphitheatre with a full calendar of shows and a coming $60 million art gallery, is a major drawcard for Stanhill purchasers, including Peter and Beatrice Zaremba.

The couple, who have lived on Tamborine Mountain for 25 years, are ready to embrace a more cosmopolitan lifestyle.

“We are so excited about moving to Stanhill. We love the project so much that if we won the lotto we would buy apartments in the building for all of our children,” Mrs Zaremba said.

“We can already imagine taking a walk from our apartment across the new Green Bridge to HOTA to watch shows and visit the Farmers Markets, before heading back for lunch at one of the many restaurants on Thomas Drive.

“We fell in love with Chevron Island because although it is so close to Surfers Paradise, it has a quieter, village feel with a beautiful riverfront park and pockets of greenery, along with a few spots to launch a kayak or throw in a fishing line.

“It feels like the right place for us to downsize. With a tram station nearby, plenty of bike tracks and the planned new ferry service, it will be easy for us to get around and enjoy all the area has to offer.”

Mrs Zaremba said the building’s location and design would allow them to entertain family and friends.

“We have lived on acreage so one thing we really wanted was space to bring the family together and Stanhill offers that in the form of a huge rooftop recreation area,” she said.

“The rooftop has plenty of space for multiple groups to entertain in privacy, with use of a fully appointed private kitchen and dining room, along with a spa to soak in the views. There’s also a pool on the ground floor, which is fantastic because I swim often.

“We have bought a two-bedroom apartment on level four, which has a cleverly designed layout to maximise space and because of the two-storey height limit on the river, our views are protected.

“After renovating about 12 properties we are looking forward to finally having a brand new home with contemporary, top-shelf fittings and finishes and all of the resort-style amenities we can enjoy, but won’t have to maintain.”

Stanhill offers buyers a mix of two and three-bedroom apartments, priced from $499,000 to $799,000.
