Buyers should act quickly

-

OWNER occupiers looking for a new apartment at Main Beach better act quickly with five residences left in a boutique tower to rise on Pacific St.

The 16-level Cerulean, developed by CityVest, will have 29 north facing three and four bedroom apartments.

Sales so far have racked up $34 million with a mix of locals, Brisbane-based and interstate buyers investing in the project.

Colliers International residential director David Higgins said many of the buyers had done their research and knew exactly what they wanted.

“They look at everything in the market that is available for sale, both built, established, newly completed and off-theplan, then shortlist based on their key preferences,” he said.

“On the Gold Coast, we are seeing a big trend of empty nesters searching for boutique style developments that offer luxury and lifestyle closer to the beach.”

Marie and Jonathan Bayton, who moved from Melbourne in April, bought a three-bedroom residence on level 7 for $1.457 million. “We made a decision to move to the Gold Coast about three years ago and during our search, we realised that there are a lot of options in the market,” Mrs Bayton said. “What mattered to us was the residential only building, smaller boutique- style development and a fabulous location.”

Kerry and Roger Haymen who have been living in Main Beach for the past 10 years have bought a four-bedroom residence on level 5 for $1.675 million.

“There are not many projects that offer four bedroom residences on one level, and this was very important to us as we have kids and grandkids who visit often,” Mrs Haymen said.

Remaining apartments are selling from $1.275 million while the penthouse is priced at $3.95 million.

Construction, which is by Hutchinson Builders, is expected to be finished by the end of 2020.
