Passion transforms home into paradise

A whole lot of renovation love has seen one couple breathe new life into this Paradise Point waterfront home with a long list of impressive features

WHAT started out as a side hobby for Gold Coast couple James and Natalie Mack has quickly become a passion.

On top of each running their own companies, the dynamic duo has renovated five properties in the past five years.

Their latest project in Paradise Point saw the original ‘unliveable’ house redesigned, extended and fully renovated.

“The home had very solid double brick, hardwood construction and high ceilings,” Mr Mack said. “It needed a lot of love but its bones were amazing.”

That love has seen the entire house transformed, starting with the entry foyer where a rendered feature wall by texture specialist Jarryd Inns creates a point of difference as does a glass atrium and 800bottle purpose-built walk-in wine cellar.

A 5.7m wide span with bi-fold doors provides seamless access between the living, dining and kitchen and the covered entertaining terrace.

A new pool overlooks the water while a storage area has been converted into an alltoo-convenient wet bar.

“You can make cocktails and pass them into the pool area,” Mr Mack said.

“It’s really nice to have a swim, watch the sunset and enjoy some drinks.”

Boating enthusiasts will also enjoy the powered pontoon and take advantage of bridge-free access to the Broadwater and Gold Coast Seaway.
