Penthouse paradise by the beach

Set over two levels, no expense has been spared on this luxurious penthouse which has its own private rooftop terrace to take in the spectacular views

- WORDS SAMANTHA HEALY

SET over two levels, this luxury penthouse has enviable views and its own private rooftop terrace to soak it all in.

Located opposite Miami Beach, it has four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. Two bedrooms and a second master suite with its own walk-in robe and ensuite are located on the first floor – level four – of this stunning residence.

The main master suite is located on the upper level – level five – and has its own private lounge, walk-in robe and marble ensuite.

Other features of this master suite escape include American oak finishes, ocean views and access to the pool terrace, which boasts a bespoke daybed, bathroom, outdoor lounge and built-in outdoor kitchen.

Inside, Turkish limestone and Italian Carrara marble take the finishes to the next level. The first floor main kitchen boasts designer appliances, and is open to the lounge and dining space that flows out onto the second alfresco terrace.

Other features include Cbus home automation, keyless entry, a media room, laundry, study nook, a cleverly concealed powder room and secure parking for three cars. Close to popular cafes, restaurants, boutiques and necessary amenities, it is also just 15 minutes from the Gold Coast airport.

Kollosche Broadbeach agent Eoghan Murphy said the penthouse, and the building as a whole, was one of the best builds he had ever seen.

“The owners, two brothers, essentially had no budget and were onsite every day, harassing the builders to make sure it was done right,” Mr Murphy said.

“They lived in it (the penthouse) for 12 months and were able to make any changes that were needed.”

But Mr Murphy said “circumstances changed” and the brothers were now selling the penthouse, with two other residences within the complex currently rented.

He said the building was a “landmark on the strip”, with many people stopping to look at it.

“I have never been in a property where so many people know it, talk about it,” he said.

As for who the potential buyer could be, Mr Murphy said it would likely be someone looking for a lifestyle change.

He said COVID-19 had put a lot of things into perspective for people, with many looking to the Gold Coast as an escape if the pandemic, and lockdowns, dragged on.

“I think right now what we are seeing right across the Gold Coast, from that $2 million price point and above, is a lot of buyers making lifestyle decisions,” he said.

“Really, anyone looking at buying property now has either survived or thrived during COVID and they are looking at where they want to be.”

Mr Murphy said the spring selling season got off to a good start, then slowed, before another surge in activity when Victoriua went into its second lockdown.

With restrictions easing, he said he expected another spike in the market, with the penthouse in prime position to attract buyers keen to secure a holiday house to escape to.

“We don’t see any signs of it (the market) slowing down,” he said.
