Custommade for luxury living

-

THE two-story penthouse in Main Beach’s La Mer development is off the market after selling to a local couple for $5.99 million.

The apartment, which takes up the top two levels of the 34-level Main Beach Parade tower has been fully customised by the new owners who worked with the developer and architect to create a floor plan suited to their lifestyle.

So it was out with the rooftop plunge pool and in with a master suite, featuring a gym room, sitting area and balcony.

NPA Projects director Andrew Erwin, who is marketing the development, said the buyers transformed the original plans.

“The penthouse was created as a three or four-bedroom apartment with a rooftop terrace and plunge pool,” Mr Erwin said.

But he said with the owners having had a rooftop pool and deck in the past that they never used, they were keen to replace it with a fitness-focused master suite.

Mr Erwin said the couple happened up on the Main Beach development almost by accident after walking past the sales office on the morning of the project’s launch event.

They decided to stop in and see what was on offer and after exploring the apartment options submitted an expression of interest.

The $100 million La Mer is a joint venture for friends Anthony Quinn of QNY Group and Alex Polites of Polites Property Group.

Since launching in mid-June, it has had an overwhelming sales response with 70 per cent of the development’s 29 full-floor apartments, which span 307sq m and accommodate three to four bedrooms, already accounted for.

Construction on the project is expected to start late in 2021, with a builder to soon be appointed.
