HOLLYWOOD favourite Hugh Jackman is living a local’s life – and loving it – since landing on the Gold Coast for a family holiday.

Jackman, 46, has been busy swimming, eating, fishing, sightseeing, working out at the gym and taking a friend’s dog for a walk since he and his children, Oscar, 12, and Ava, 9, arrived on the Glitter Strip.

The doting dad and husband of fellow Aussie actor Deborra-Lee Furness posted a screen shot of his wife on Twitter yesterday after she appeared on Channel 7’s Sunrise.

Furness, speaking from Melbourne, was on the show to advocate changes to Australia’s strict adoption laws.

“That’s my girl! @Deborra_lee. Babe, you inspire me every single day. @AdoptChangeAU,” Jackman posted.

While the actor is part owner of the luxury Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat in Tallebudgera Valley, he and the kids are staying with friends in the Burleigh-Miami area.

The Wolverine star has had breakfast at Burleigh’s Canteen and dinner at Mermaid Beach’s Little Truffle and posted photos on Instagram showing him swimming, working out, enjoying a boat ride, dolphin watching and fishing.

He and the kids have also visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and spent an hour at Air Factory trampoline centre in Burleigh Waters.

Little Truffle owner Daniel Ridgeway said he was pleasantly surprised when Jackman p phoned to reserve a table for eight for dinner on Thursday.

“He called us himself and booked under his own name. He didn’t request it but we decided to pop them in a private dining room because we had a full house.”

Mr Ridgeway said Jackman and his group “absolutely loved” their meals.

“I’m such a huge Hugh fan.”
