Buyers set to pounce on new vehicle

THE order book is open for the new Jaguar F-Type SVR, an exciting supercar set to arrive at Bruce Lynton Jaguar in November.

Dealer principal Beric Lynton said the vehicle was the first Jaguar SVR and the fastest F-Type.

“It has been developed by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations to be lighter, quicker, faster and more powerful, while remaining tractable and usable day-to-day,” Mr Lynton said.

He described the vehicle as an all-weather supercar with a top speed of 322km/h.

“More powerful, lighter, and benefiting from an enhanced chassis and driveline and active aerodynamics, the allwheel drive F-Type SVR coupe and convertible delivers supercar performance – in all conditions – and unrivalled driver engagement and reward,” he said.

“Raising the output of Jaguar’s supercharged 5L V8 to 423kW and 700Nm enables the F-Type SVR to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the coupe model is 322km/h, the convertible is 314km/h.”

Mr Lynton said the FType R was already a benchmark in the sports car segment but this model represented the starting point for development of the F-Type SVR.

“Everything which contributes to performance and vehicle dynamics has been meticulously re-evaluated, re-engineered and optimised still further,” he said.

“An enhanced aerodynamics package of front bumper and splitter, flat underfloor, carbon fibre active rear wing and rear venturi reduces lift and drag.

“An up-rated chassis features new dampers and anti-roll bars, wider tyres, lightweight 20-inch forged wheels and new, stiffer rear knuckles.

“A titanium and Inconel exhaust system deliv- ers an even more purposeful, harder-edged sound – and a 16kg weight saving.”

Mr Lynton said inside the F-Type SVR, people would find seats with Lozenge Quilt pattern, a suede cloth-covered instrument binnacle and centre console, and a steering wheel with anodised aluminium paddle shifters.

“Other features include bespoke calibrations for the Quickshift transmission and the electric power-assisted steering, adaptive dynamics, torque vectoring, dynamic stability control and all-wheel drive systems,” he said.
