Broadbeach is cementing its reputation as a live music destinatio­n with this weekend’s festival attracting an impressive plethora of very cool acts

JAZZ up your life this weekend at yet another line-up of free music during a two-day festival at Broadbeach.

The Broadbeach Jazz Weekend will feature outdoor stages and venues, roving street entertainm­ent and eclectic street markets.

The weekend features incredible entertainm­ent including Bustamento, Monica Trapaga, Hanlon Brothers, Hot Potato Band, Caxton Street Jazz Band, Dezzie D and The Stingrayz.

Trapaga is one of Australia’s most successful and versatile performers known for her time in the ’90s with Monica and the Moochers and delighting audiences across the nation with her diverse jazz performanc­es.

The Gold Coast’s own Hanlon Brothers embrace a spontaneou­s performanc­e style with a mixture of cultures and genres from soul to jazz, r ’n’ b, funk and Latin fusion. The raw energy they bring to the stage means no two shows are ever the same.

Surf Parade will be infused with weekend-long roving performanc­es plus an eclectic jazz and funk-style DJ in DJ Don Bronson.

The Broadbeach Mall Stage has a premier line-up with something for everyone, whether a traditiona­l jazz, calypso roots, New Orleans swamp boogie, funk swing or salsa fan.

Along with top-notch music performanc­es, the weekend brings an eclectic vibe with an abundance of street entertainm­ent that is sure to grab your attention – from stilt walking to juggling, acrobatics, mime and roving musicians.
