LNP open to One Nation

-

QUEENSLAND’S Liberal National Party is leaving the door open to preference One Nation ahead of Labor at the next state election.

LNP leader Tim Nicholls was repeatedly pressed about a One Nation preference deal on the opening day of the party’s state convention in Brisbane.

He responded by saying any decisions would be made by the state executive. “In terms of the issue of preferences, that is a matter that is still open,” he said yesterday.

LNP president Gary Spence went further.

“While I agree with (Mr Nicholls) that we need to listen to our branches and our members, I think the overwhelming majority will agree that we need to put Labor and the Greens last at the next election,” he said.
