Auto and sport lift Super Retail

-

THE Super Retail Group’s auto and sport businesses have performed strongly, offsetting weakness from its outdoor leisure retail chains, Ray’s Outdoor and BCF.

The group, which also owns Supercheap Auto, Amart Sport and Rebel, has suffered a 22.6 per cent slide in statutory net profit of $62.8 million for the year to July 2.

But, when one-off costs, including a writedown to the Ray’s Outdoor brand, are stripped out, the group’s profit is up 2.2 per cent.

Group revenue has risen 8.2 per cent to $2.42 billion.

The group’s three divisions, auto, sport and leisure, recorded strong revenue growth with the crucial like-for-like sales climbing 4.4 per cent, 6.3 per cent and 4.4 per cent, respectively.
