NBN’s revenue target up by 25%

-

NBN Co has lifted its revenue target by 25 per cent to $5 billion for 2020 with the national broadband network now expected to generate $52 a month from each user.

NBN Co chief executive Bill Morrow expects a 30 per cent jump in data consumption as users watching more videos and movies on mobile devices will lift usage and revenue for the wholesale network.

Mr Morrow said NNB Co is on track to connect eight million premises by completion in 2020, up from three million now.

The maximum cost of NBN has been revised down by $2 billion to $54 billion, thanks to better clarity on the remaining roll out and associated costs. The top end of the peak funding range has been revised to between $46 billion and $54 billion.
