AS VOTED BY YOU, THE WINNERS ARE... YELLOWFIN RESTAURANT, BROADBEACH

6/20 Queensland Ave, Broadbeach

Yellowfin took out the top spot the last time this poll ran in 2014 and it’s done it again two years later.

General manager Tom Nathan (pictured) said he and the whole team were passionate about the restaurant.

“Even though I’ve only been here a year, Yellowfin has been here for nine years so I think our longevity really speaks volumes,” he said.

“It’s my job to make sure all the service is up-to-scratch and that just goes hand-in-hand with amazing food and the best possible produce.

“It’s all about introducing a high standard and always keeping it up.”

That high standard is especially in play when it comes to what we’re all here for: the seafood.

“We have a really diverse range of seafood. Our chef sources and he never settles for second-best,” Nathan said.

“If there’s something he wants on the menu but the produce isn’t as good as it could be he leaves it off because he doesn’t want to serve something that’s substandard.

“The most important thing to us is that we source our seafood daily so it’s the freshest it can possibly be.”

Yellowfin favourites include its enormous seafood platters, bursting with colour and filling up bellies, and the fish of the day, which can be done three ways.

Nathan said whether it was seafood or service, the team wanted to keep the customers happy.

“We cater to every need. We hire staff that are personable and will put a smile on people’s faces and who actually enjoy working here,” he said.

“That means people relax and are free to focus on the food and really enjoy themselves.

“I’m really happy with how we work here, it really is a team effort from everyone from the kitchen to front of house.”
