Dream on track

BIG-striding Hartnell will get around the tight Moonee Valley track OK, according to his trainer John O’Shea.

“The track rider who was on him when he worked on the track last week said he got around it like a dream,’’ he said.

O’Shea admits Hartnell is a more relaxed horse this spring, which has led to a tremendous form surge since losing to Winx in the Warwick Stakes in August.

“Because he is relaxing so well we have been able to ride a few races on him,” O’Shea said.

“Hartnell, each week we have worked him in Melbourne, he looks to have improved and this week has been no different. He is going better than last year.’’
