Trainers weigh up their options for Run All Night and Zinzi

- GOLD COAST

THE Gillian Heinrich and Ben Rodgers stable will decide this morning which way to go with dual acceptors Run All Night and Zinzi.

Both two-year-old fillies are entered for the Gold Coast and Eagle Farm meetings as they chase prizemoney to qualify for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January.

Run All Night, a 900m trial winner at the Gold Coast on October 6, is the fourth emergency for the QTIS Handicap (1000m) for two-year-old fillies at Eagle Farm.

There had been three scratchings by last night, giving hope she might get a run.

The Eagle Farm race carries $40,200 first prizemoney while the Gold Coast event over 900m is worth $9100 to the winner.

“We’ll make the call on Saturday morning,” Heinrich said in regard to where the fillies would run.

The Heinrich-Rodgers stable has about 10 two-year-olds being aimed at the Magic Millions and believes Run All Night, a daughter of Charge Forward, is the best of its contenders this early in the season.

“At the moment she’s the best by far,” Heinrich said.

“She looks like a typical early two-year-old who will jump and run but she has to put it together on race day.”

Zinzi, by Snitzel, ran third to Run All Night in the Gold Coast trial this month. Both horses are owned by Tayla Heinrich, the daughter of Gillian and her husband Hoss.

“It’s the start of the next generation,” Gillian said of another Heinrich entering the racing industry.

“She didn’t want to be a trainer like her mum and be up at 4am. She would rather be an owner more like her dad.”

Tayla, 20, works for her father’s construction business and does the accounts for the stable.

Heinrich and Rodgers chalked up their second winner since launching their training partnership this season when Star Of Pompeii ($4.40) won a Three-Year-old Maiden (1020m) at Ipswich yesterday.
