Platinum has a reputation for being all about the music, regularly hosting world-class acts including Will Sparks (pictured), Tigerlily, Timmy Trumpet, New World Sound, Tenzin, Kyro, Brooklyn and more. Both Platinum and Eden support local talent with local DJs behind the decks weekly in both the main room and left-field Green Room. THE AVENUE, SURFERS PARADISE 3-15 Orchid Ave, Surfers Paradise While the old Avenue was perhaps more pub than nightclub, the new Avenue falls neatly into the category with its soundproof dance floor creating a totally new atmosphere. The old Avenue’s main dance floor played the Nutbush and Macarena, but the new one plays on-trend, high-energy hits – not that there’s anything wrong with the Nutbush. Owners Vince and Michael Russo (pictured) unveiled the new venue, across the road, in July. The public’s reaction has been seemingly unanimously positive – and for a cool $3 million they would certainly hope so.
