CLIPPER Motor Yachts owner Brett Thurley cannot wait to unveil the results of a new partnership p with a highly-regarded Italian designer.

Clipper has inked a deal with Florida-based Facheris Design, the firm of Italian designer Patrizio Facheris, to design the interior and exteriors of the next Clipper range.

Facheris Design has marine industry experience spanning more than 30 years doing everything from tenders to super yachts.

Mr Thurley told Coast Weekend heading in a new direction with the interiors and exterior look had been something he’d been mulling for over a year — and he’s excited to have snared the services of the in-demand Italian.

“You can only achieve a certain amount on your own with interior design,” Mr Thurley said.

“You really need that experience if you are going to do it properly — that was the missing piece of the puzzle in my mind.

“Patrizio is the epitome of Italian design flair and has been working with majorj US and European companies for more than 20 years so his expertise, passion for elegance in design and ability to achieve excellence is well record.”

Clipper has commissioned Facheris to completely redo the design interior of its upcoming Hudson Bay sedans which will hit the market when boat show season cranks up next May. “I’m very excited, I feel like it’s the right time and the right person for our company,” he said.

“I feel very lucky we have crossed paths because a lot of the time, guys of his ilk and calibre are unobtainable for a boat builder like us on our scale.

“It’s a different if you’re a Riviera when it’s just part of the parcel but for us it is going to help take our company to the next level.

“I feel like our competitors are really married to a conservative style for semi displacement trawlers and we are giving a much more modern level.

“Our feedback from the market is to build luxurious, stylish and modern interiors for the Australian boating lifestyle so we will deliver on that.”

The first boat off the design palette of Facheris Design will be the new Hudson Bay 54, followed by 35, 39 and 50 footers.

But Mr Thurley said the services of the new design partner would be available to any new clients wanting to custom design their fitout.
