CARNAVAL SET TO ROCK

-

Shia says the Carnaval also features traditional Brazilian food, drinks, cultural performances and live music.

“We’ve got samba dancers, drumming, musical artists … it’s really going to be over-the-top, in the best possible way.

“We’ve worked really hard to make this a party that has something for the whole family.

“There’s no way adults or children will be bored.”

Shia says her husband Daniel, originally from Brazil, organised the event as he wanted to bring a piece of his old home to his new.

“As far apart as Brazil and Australia are geographically, there’s actually a lot that we have in common.

“We both have that laid-back, coastal lifestyle — and we love a good time,” says Shia.

“There are a lot of Brazilians living on the Gold Coast and they love having that reminder of home. Daniel’s been trying to bring a lot of the Brazilian celebrations to the Coast, people love the party lifestyle that they have.

“There are also a lot of Australians who have been to Brazil — or who would love to go — and this is a great way to get a taste.

“But at the bottom of it all, it’s just an opportunity to have an awesome time with people from all cultures and of all ages.”
