Coast needs to showcase talent
appropriate context is valuable. You can often break down a lot of barriers over a meal that you wouldn’t break down normally in a board room or meeting room.
I have a number of people who I’d go to for business advice. They range from excolleagues, to people I’ve met through business, to family – my wife particularly! at a rapid rate. It impacts on service delivery, business growth, business intelligence and specifically data capture and analysis. Primary school students should be studying old fashioned etiquette and also information technology. We are in the age of technology but we really need to understand how to use it in a day-to-day environment – and not forget about common courtesy and etiquette. The Gold Coast has grown significantly in the last 20 years and we pride ourselves on the way we can do business. Sometimes this isn’t recognised by the larger cities. We need to profile more Gold Coast business people on both the state and national stage. There are some extremely high-quality business people here across multiple industries and we need to showcase the talent we have.
