Remote tower platform in mix for awards
THE Gold Coast CEO and cofounder of a cloud-based celltower analysis and visualisation platform for telcos is one of five finalists showcasing the entrepreneurial talents of regional Australia.
Miami’s David Crane, of SiteSee, will present a pitch on stage to a live audience and expert judging panel next month as part of the Australia Post Regional Pitchfest.
He and other state finalists are competing for a share in $100,000 worth of prizes, which will see winners heading to the national final in Wagga Wagga in August.
SiteSee enables telcos to view, interact and analyse cell tower infrastructure in a 3D environment and make informed decisions without having to visit the site.
It partners with drone operators to create 3D digital models of cell towers.
Accessible via the web, SiteSee can be accessed by phone, tablet or computer anywhere in the world.
Regional Pitchfest founder, Dianna Somerville, said: “Peo- ple across all of regional Australia have backed themselves and taken the leap to see their idea or business go to the next level.
“The ideas and businesses that have come forward are nothing short of amazing.”
SiteSee evolved through the Bond Business Accelerator program before receiving seed funding.
Australia Post general manager small business, Rebecca Burrows, said: “The ideas and innovation across technology, products and services reinfor- ces the strength and resourcefulness of regional Australians in finding solutions to everyday problems.”
One of the judges, entrepreneur, active investor and start up mentor, Steve Baxter, said he was thrilled to be involved in a program that supported and promoted regional and rural innovation.
“The thing about living rurally and regionally is that you have to think outside the square to come up with great solutions to problems,” Mr Baxter said.
