GET INTO CORKER OF AN EVENT
A bubbly crowd will line up to get their fill of everything champers
TICKET sales are now open for Australia’s only festival dedicated solely to champagne, Effervescence.
Held at Spicers Hidden Vale, an hour from Brisbane, Effervescence returns on August 13 after a highly successful inaugural year in 2016.
The sparkling celebration was created by champagne educator Amanda Reboul.
“There are plenty of champagne events for professionals, but the options for ordinary champagne lovers is minimal,” she says.
“With tasting stations from more than 25 houses, including wellknown famous and boutique grower houses and over 60 cuvees, Effervescence offers the opportunity to do just that – to taste, learn and, most of all, enjoy champagne.”
As well as the stations representing the different microregions and styles of champagne, there will be cooking demonstrations and talks hosted by Channel 7’s The Great Day Out presenter Damien Anthony-Rossi, live music, and food, and the chance to compete on the petanque court or learn the noble art of sabrage.
You don’t even have to worry about a designated driver – there will be coach transfers from the Gold Coast, or a helicopter transfer can be arranged for a speedier (and flashier) arrival.
Tickets are $120 and include champagne tastings, a tote bag, a snack box, a Philippe Jamesse tasting flute to keep and a notebook.
