ful of under-20s matches together for the Roosters.

Henare later headed to the Gold Coast then to the Warriors and back to the Bears this year.

Dallas, meanwhile, landed at the Bears five weeks ago after an injury-cruelled 2016 at Cronulla feeder club Newtown and a sole QCup game in April for Norths Devils.

He believes his ACL injury last year was a blessing.

“Maybe that was the year I needed to have off from previous injuries too. I had patellar tendonitis in my knees, it was just getting so sore I couldn’t bend down,” he said.

The five-eighth, 22, wanted to be closer to family. Tomorrow against Souths Logan he will make his third state league appearance in maroon alongside 24-year-old winger-fullback Henare.

Having churned through a number of halves pairings this season, Burleigh are hoping Dallas and former Penrith playmaker Harry Siejka can keep their one-from-one record as a combination going.

“With Dallas, we played touch together so I know his passing ability – so if I want a long ball I just scream at him ‘give me the ball’,” Henare said. “And Harry just runs the show out there.”

Up in Rockhampton, Titans giant Agnatius Paasi is expected to make his return from injury for Tweed Heads against the Capras tomorrow.

Paasi’s inclusion would be a welcome one given William Zillman and Eddy Pettybourne travelled to Townsville with the Gold Coast NRL squad. Tweed have also lost co-captain Damian Sironen (knee) and speedster Brayden McGrady (ankle).

Promising flyer David Sheridan will make his first appearance of the season.
