DIVE IN AND HUNT DOWN A BARGAIN

-

It’s the thrill of the hunt, the joy of the find, the satisfaction of saving, the fulfilment of giving … it’s the Lifeline Gold Coast $2 Clothing Sale.

More than 140,000 pieces of high-quality, second-hand clothing are up for grabs for just one little gold coin. And “grabs” is the operative word. Calling all clothes hounds, best you be up with the early birds – because they’re the ones who get the choicest pre-worn worm. Doors open at 8am today and guaranteed there will be crowds digging for wardrobe gold.

The expert advice is to have a plan. If you see a particularly large gathering at a table, skip it. There will be nothing but sifted-over seconds. Seconds of seconds, actually.

Don’t deliberate. If you think you like it, grab it. Every three items equals a latte. #perspective

Know who you’re shopping for and don’t be afraid to put yourself first. If you’re a lady, go ahead and get yours first. Let’s face it, we pay the most money for the least amount of clothing so every one piece you find is worth at least five men’s items.

When it comes to finding kids’ fashion, buy big – in more ways than one. If your daughter is five but you find something super cute in size 12, just get it. You’re feathering her future wardrobe. And if it goes out of fashion in the intervening years, well, it was $2. Adjusting for inflation, that’s about 5¢ in 2024.

With the sale boasting brand names and high quality second-hand clothing including a range of women’s, men’s, children’s, leather and even travel bags, it’s a one-stop event for all your clothing needs.

There’s even second-hand undies. But I’ll let you have those.

Most importantly, funds raised are in support of Lifeline’s 13 11 14 Crisis Support line. Each year, Lifeline receives more than one million contacts from help-seekers. So get shopping.
