French food, cheese and wine,’” Julie recalled.

“Well that didn’t happen. Unfortunately no one knows why – we’ll never understand. I must thank the community – everyone around the world.”

Determined to ensure Sara’s impact is never forgotten, Julie plans to open a retreat or a trauma clinic in her daughter’s memory.

“Something good must come out of this,” she said.

Sara’s love for travel had seen her find her roots in Europe. Described as mischievous and never shy, Sara’s three closest friends Hannah Harper, Sarah Beverley and Sarah Lamborne told of hangovers and sleepovers. “We learned, graduated, celebrated and laughed. Cried, danced, partied and partied a bit more. And boy, did we party hard,” Hannah said.

A statement by federal Member for Bonner Ross Vasta was also read. “Sara was a bright and caring woman who was loved by everyone who knew her,” he said.

“I encourage you all to come together in support of each other, and to show the world our strength in the face of unspeakable acts. This is the legacy Sara deserves.”
