Abbott to join function line-up

YOU know you have some pretty good political ties when you can get a former prime minister up for a chat at your function.

The Gold Coast Central Chamber of Commerce has managed to round up former PM Tony Abbott to headline its 2017 GC Showcase.

The rugby-loving former Rhodes scholar will headline an impressive set of presenters including, but not limited to, publisher Ocean Reeve, who manages to keep more than 1500 authors on the leash at his publishing house and Stuart Norris, whose business cranks out most of the photos of terrified ride-goers at theme parks across the world.

Chamber secretary Andrew Shields said it would be an awesome day.

He said anyone wishing to catch Mr Abbott’s views on the economy, creativity and business had best register quickly.

The event is being held at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa on September 28 from noon to 2pm.
