Miss Exfactor has right credentials

- MARK OBERHARDT I PSWICH

NO horse racing at Ipswich today has better form lines than classy filly Miss Exfactor.

The Tony Gollan-trained filly will take on a smart field in the Three-Year-Old Fillies Handicap (1200m).

Miss Exfactor, a $70,000 buy at the Magic Millions Sales, will be having only her third race start but she has already shown plenty of class.

At her first start she tested Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Houtzen before finishing second to that filly at Eagle Farm in March.

Houtzen was on her way to the Golden Slipper in which she eventually finished fifth as favourite.

Miss Exfactor then went to the Gold Coast where won a two-year-old race with Shogun Sun finishing second.

Shogun Sun is running in the Group 1 Golden Rose at Rosehill today and has won at Randwick.

Gollan has resisted the temptation to rush Miss Exfactor to the south and has mapped out a plan heading to the Magic Millions carnival in January.

“I suppose I could have taken her to Sydney or Melbourne but I think she needs a bit more time,” Gollan said.

“I gave her a trial at Deagon and she won that easily.

“I want her to get experience but just as importantly she needs to win prizemoney to ensure she gets into the Millions races.

“If she can win (today) she will pick up $40,000 and that will make my task a lot easier.”
