‘My creepy meet with Weinstein’
A GOLD Coast entertainer and fashion stylist has shared details of a creepy encounter with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Riely Saville was working as a Disney Princess at Hong Kong Disney theme park when she met the Hollywood mogul at the Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong in 2011.
Weinstein has been accused of sexual abuse and harassment, with the accusations spanning decades, and women including Rosetta Arquette, Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Beckinsale, Asia Argento and Rose McGowan, who says he raped her.
“My friend was saying she had an idea for a movie and we were joking with her saying Harvey’s here – you should talk to him,” Saville said.
“When we went to the after-party, Harvey saw us across the room and started walking straight towards us. We were saying ‘Harvey’s coming – you can get your movie made’.
“He came straight up to my friend and he said to her ‘have you done any acting’ and she said ‘yes, I’m an actress’. He said take a walk with me and he escorted her outside the room. We didn’t realise it was anything dodgy.”
Five minutes later, Saville’s friend came “storming back into the room”.
“Her eyeballs were really wide and she ran straight towards me and hid behind me and I said what happened? She looked terrified. Harvey followed her back into the room and walked straight up to me and said ‘your friend has a boyfriend – do you?’ I didn’t but I said yes I do have a boyfriend. He said that’s a shame and he walked off.”
A dancer, singer, aerialist, model and former Dracula’s star, Saville recently appeared as Marilyn Monroe at the Viva Festival in Surfers Paradise and at the Mayoral Gala Charity Ball after returning to Australia after playing Marilyn Monroe at Universal Studios in Singapore.
She said her friend told her Weinstein asked her if she had a boyfriend.
“He said is it serious? So you’re in love? Oh well – if you come up to my hotel room I can make big things happen for you. She didn’t – she came back to me.
“If she had stars in her eyes and went up to the room, who knows what might have happened,” Saville said.
