CRICHLOW TOASTS VICTORY AT BOWLO

FIREBRAND councillor Dawn Crichlow is celebrating victory after controversial plans for a Southport casino were canned.

The plan, suggested by Mayor Tom Tate, would have involved the demolition and relocation of the Southport Bowls Club.

The move put her at odds with Cr Tate and sparked community protests.

Cr Crichlow said she would celebrate her victory with a drink at the bowls club.

“This is just excellent news and I went to the bowls club to let the people know about the win,” she said. “I still question the need for another casino.”
