SOCIAL MEDIA STAR KEEPING IT REAL

- EMILY SELLECK

A BROADBEACH fitness guru has amassed a 28,000strong army of Instagram followers by deciding to show her true self on social media – warts and all.

Asha Burnley, 28, said attempting to portray a life of perfection put her under too much pressure, so she decided to stop.

“A few years ago I just dropped it all and decided I wasn’t going to hide anything,” she said.

“When I eat chocolate or have a drink I’ll show it.

“I was taking on the pressure of trying to be a leader for women but I realised that being real and being yourself makes you even more of a leader because you’re not being fake.

“We all do grocery shopping and do the laundry, everyone is a real person and that’s something we should be sharing.”

Ms Burnley will be at Marina Mirage today hosting a nutritional masterclass. “This weekend is all about colours ... you should eat all the colours of the rainbow,” she said.

“I’ll be demonstrating a few different recipes showing people how to cook with lots of colours.”
