SPLASH OUT ON BIG ARRAY OF BUSKERS

- CONTACT: buskersbythecreek.com.au PRICE: Entry is free

Swap your golden notes for gold coins and get yourself to Currumbin for the 2017 Buskers by the Creek festival.

Attracting record crowds last year with Australia’s first ever floating half-pipe, this year there’s a recordtopping 300-plus roll call of awardwinning musicians, world-renowned entertainers and stunts galore, ensuring this family-friendly festival keeps its place as a world-leading busking carnival.

From award-winning performers to talented teens; from swing to sword swallowing; from banjo to energy shows – there is a mixed bag of sweet sounds and fabulous entertainment to enjoy … and entry is free.

Audiences can also enjoy the raw sounds of 2017 Byron Bay Bluesfest Busking Champions and “discover the undiscovered” with a colourful collection of emerging singer/ songwriters thrown into the mix.

An eclectic group of performance artists will be painting and creating their masterpieces, while an international menu will also be on offer with well-known local restaurants dishing up festival food with flair.

This year will see a NightQuarter Bar within the festival grounds, with the Helensvale-based team serving up a variety of beverages in a new suburb to quench your festival thirst. There’s a stage within the bar area, with live music kicking off from 10.30am both days.

The young ones are covered too, with Karma Kids offering a vast variety of workshops, crafts, circus, music and loads more. Even better, due to popular demand, a childminding service will also be available.

Just remember that all performers’ hats and suitcases will be open and out, so don’t forget to bring your spare change.

There will also be $1 “Pick your Busker” tokens for sale, which acts can redeem for cash.

All gratuities given to the acts will be received with thanks and the purchase of merchandise will also support this local talent on their road to success.

WHERE: From 10am to 6pm today and tomorrow at Winders Park, Duringan St, Currumbin
