GOLD COAST QUADDIE

- NICOLE THOMAS UBET

Race 5 – Class 3 Hcp (1400m) Raggle Varr should be up there from the inside gate and is rock hard fit third-up. Laststart winner Spirit of Husson will be on speed and the jockey travelled a long way. Big watch here on Lefkas Island at decent odds, as she’s two from two this track and distance. Kid Cruise is third-up after a couple of luckless runs. Selections: 2 Raggle Varr, 1 Spirit Of Husson, 6 Lefkas Island, 7 Kid Cruise

Race 6 – Class 1 Hcp (1300m) It was a super effort from Vanilla Jewel when second-up last prep. Windcatcher has that lethal trainer/jockey combination and can win by settling closer to the speed. Ameridon was beaten as favourite last start when heavily backed but pulled up with slow post-race recovery. Watch market! Red Colour’s stable has a knack for turning them around.

Selections: 4 Vanilla Jewel, 1 Windcatcher, 5 Ameridon, 10 Red Colour

Race 7 – Class 4 Hcp (900m) The on-pacer Amber Jewel failed in tougher company when slowly away and can atone. Brat Attack found the 1100m a touch too far last start and should be up on the speed. Dansu bolted in when ridden forward and has the pace to burn across. Real Cute ran on well last start. Selections: 2 Amber Jewel, 4 Brat Attack, 3 Dansu,

6 Real Cute

Race 8 – Class 2 Hcp (1800m) The dual-nominated Sharp Speedo looks the top chance on form if she runs at the Coast. Zoff Of The World failed as favourite last start in town on a heavy 8 and is far more suitable. Tiarnan is clearly looking for 1800m after winning his maiden. Geometrist is getting close to a win and is right in this. Selections: 3 Sharp Speedo, 1 Zoff Of The World, 8 Tiarnan, 2 Geometrist
