Working for Whincup could get your motor running

-

IF THE beefy grunt of V8s around Surfers Paradise has made you keen to rev up your career, Jamie Whincup has the job for you.

The 106-time Supercars race winner is chasing a manager for his Gold Coast business Washed For Cars – and is willing to pay up to $75,000 a year to the right applicant.

The greatest ever championship driver is quick to stress this is a position for a genuine, motivated, hardworking manager and that being a Supercars fan is not a critical skill for the role.

“The person I’m looking for is already running a mowing franchise or something and is not very satisfied but doesn’t have the capital to run their own business,” he told the Gold Coast Bulletin. “It’s a milliondollar car washing business, with 20 staff – I want someone who is keen to take the reins and make it their own.”

Whincup, who is quite possibly at this moment travelling at 260km/h, said the challenge of finding good management was a big one.

“I think many business owners can relate to the challenges of finding good people for management roles,” he said.

“Recruitment is such a time-consuming task, and anyone that can afford to put on a recruitment manager is clearly charging the customer too much.”
