ENTERTAINMENT

-

MUSIC lovers don’t have to be motorsport fans to enjoy one of the best Broadwater Sounds concert line-ups in Gold Coast 600 history.

After Delta Goodrem, Daryl Braithwaite and DJ Trials last night rocked the Broadwater Parklands, tonight it’s the turn of the Hilltop Hoods, Violent Soho, Montaigne, Dean Lewis and DJ Trials.

While entry is free for same-day GC600 ticketholders and children under 12, tickets will be on sale at the gate for tonight’s concert if not sold out. The cost is $91.

The initiative is expected to help boost the race weekend box office.

The concerts are part of a range of entertainment offerings on the race weekend program both on and off track.

If you missed yesterday’s handling display and flyover by an RAAF Hawk 127, don’t worry, the aircraft returns for a skills demonstration tomorrow between 2.03pm and 2.09pm. and a final fly-past at 2.16pm as the pre-race rendition of the national anthem ends.

Crowds will also be able to enjoy the Miss Supercars National Final live and free in Cavill Mall in Surfers tonight while the Classic Auto Art exhibition of historic motorsport art continues at the Left Bank Gallery in Southport until October 27.

The Flair Riders Show is also back for a dynamic demonstration in Ferny Avenue today and tomorrow. The show sees Australia’s top freestyle trials riders push their motorcycles and bicycles to their limits.

Just as thrilling, the popular Showtime Freestyle Moto X team daredevils are also back on track. The team, regarded as the most spectacular FMX outfit in Australia, will rev up crowds in between races.

Aussie Bandit, another crowd favourite, will show off his beast of a ute — it boasts a 1700 horsepower Chev V8 mounted in the tray.

On-track party zone Club 600, on Macintosh Island, will feature DJ sets by homegrown stars including Brooke Evers (tonight 5pm) and Jake Carmody (tomorrow 3pm).

Entry to the on-track day club, located behind pit lane on Macintosh Island, is free for racegoers aged 18 and over.
