Why cops won’t stop these cyclists

Police have defended cyclists filmed riding in front of a car on a Gold Coast street. The footage caused an uproar on the Bulletin’s website, showing six cyclists hogging Hedges Ave in Mermaid Beach and preventing carpenter Matt Dennis from passing. The parties traded insults about who was in the wrong. The cyclists said they were doing the 30km/h speed limit and entitled to be on the one-way road. Mr Dennis, and many goldcoastb­ulletin.com.au readers, strongly disagreed.

Sophie Monk and Bacheloret­te winner Stu Laundy are considerin­g IVF as a way to overcome the vasectomy he had several years ago. Monk announced the multi-millionair­e Sydney publican as her winner, overcoming her concerns he may not be able to give her a child. “(The vasectomy) doesn’t really matter because it can be reversed pretty quickly or regardless I could go freeze my eggs and chuck ’em over to wherever he’s got his sperm banked,” said Monk with her characteri­stic candour.

Gym junkie cut loose from equipment

Firefighte­rs have cut free a person whose leg was caught in home gym equipment on the Gold Coast. A truck was sent out to Rumrunner St at Mermaid Waters yesterday after reports a person’s leg was trapped. Firefighte­rs used hydraulic cutting gear to free the leg.
